What are you waiting for?
Are you waiting to be diagnosed with a terminal illness or are you waiting to find out that playing with your kids is now impossible! Find out why you want to lose weight or better your health and then start now! Things will never be ideal but if you take action now you will find that a strong desire can make things happen!

Nutrition? Is that a country in Europe?

I once took a trip to Nutrition. It's a wonderful place with flowing
streams, dancing lilies and roses, and the night sky was filled with
fire flies. We traveled the winding roads seeing ancient castles and
ruins of old world civilizations.

The local peasants greeted us with favor and offered us various
trinkets for sale. The excursions to golf courses and boat rides
were especially fun, offering discounted rounds of golf, and all day
fishing and snorkeling.

Is this really Nutrition?

Lol, no it isn't. Nutrients are proteins, carbohydrates, fats,
vitamins, minerals, and water. Nutrition is the balance of these
nutrients. Pretty confusing huh? Naw, its not confusing once you
get the hang of it. You balance your diet by keeping the amount
of nutrients you take in balanced.

But how do you balance your diet?

Learning to eat nutritiously is not hard. The key is to:
1. Eat a variety of foods, including vegetables, fruits and
whole-grain products
2. Eat lean meats, poultry, fish, beans and low-fat dairy
products
3. Drink lots of water
4. Go easy on the salt, sugar, alcohol, saturated fat and
trans fat

Make it a great day!

Cellulose The Dieters Dream!

Hope you had a great thanksgiving weekend!

I did, I ate lots of food and had lots of fun with friends.

You can check out my pictures on Facebook. Click here!

Now here is a quick weight loss secret for you below!

Your body can not absorb cellulose. This is a good thing.

When talking about negative calorie foods we want to look for
foods that are high in cellulose.

The reason, your body can not break cellulose down and so it
can not take the calories from it. Unfortunately we can't eat the
perfect food in this respect cause we cant digest it either. I'm
not sure you would want to anyway because this beautiful food
is cardboard!

=)

Lol, eww yuk, cardboard.

Well, that isn't going to work so let's see what else is out there.

Celery is a great food to use. The cellulose content in celery is
huge, it nets about 6 calories in an 8'' stock. Celery is actually
packed with carbohydrates, but because its in the form of
cellulose the carbohydrates never get absorbed into the body.

Add a cold low calorie drink to the snack and you burn even
more. Your body has to first bring the drink to body temperature
before it can digest it. This expends even more energy.

So what your eating your negative calorie foods, drink a cold
glass of water with it and make the snack way more effective.

Make it a great day!

If you think this way, you need to change your way of thinking!

1. My diet and exercise determines my cholesterol levels.
FALSE. This is actually a half truth. Although diet and exercise
do contribute to healthy cholesterol levels, medication may also
be required to keep your cholesterol levels in check.

2. Using margarine instead of butter will lower my cholesterol.
FALSE. Both margarine and butter are high in fat content, so use
both in moderation. When choosing a margarine substitute for
butter check the nutrition label and pick one with -0- trans fats.

3. Thin people don't have to worry about high cholesterol.
FALSE. While overweight people tend to have higher cholesterol,
some skinny people think they can "eat anything they want". But
the truth is if you have a high metabolism and can burn more fat
than the usual person, your body still reacts badly to high
cholesterol levels. Make sure you have your cholesterol checked
regularly.

4. My doctor hasn't said anything, so I don't have to worry about
it.
FALSE. If your doctor hasn't brought it up, you bring it up.
A simple test can tell you where you stand.

5. The Nutrition label says it has no cholesterol, so it's heart
healthy. I'm good to go.
FALSE. Nutrition labels are great and a wonderful tool to
determine what's good to eat. But many low cholesterol foods are
high in saturated fat and or trans fat, that your body turns to
cholesterol when digesting food. Also when you're checking your
nutrition labels make sure you check the portion amount, more often
than not the serving size is very small.

6. Since I take a prescription for my cholesterol I can eat whatever
I want.
FALSE. Prescriptions are usually assigned after weight loss and
exercise don't bring down cholesterol levels to a fair number. You
still need to be responsible in what you eat and how much you eat.

7. High cholesterol is a mans problem.
TRUE. But it's also a woman's problem. Estrogen tends to help
produce HDL or good cholesterol, but as you age cholesterol
problems can still arise. Best to get tested on a regular basis.

8. You don't need to check your cholesterol till middle age.
FALSE. In todays society of couch potatoes and fast food, high
cholesterol can affect even young people. Again best to get checked,
better to know and fix it than not know and develop big problems
later

I know this will be an eye opener for some of you, it sure was for
me. When it comes to your heart it just make good sense to be in the
know.

Make it a great day!
