Getting Energy From Vitamins!

The biggest complaint that doctors often hear from patients is a lack of energy, or the constant feeling of fatigue. Due to these types of complaints, it really isn’t a surprise that people want to know the best types of vitamins and supplements they can get for energy. All vitamins are ideal for staying healthy, as well as keeping your body performing in top shape.

Among vitamins and supplements, one of the most common for energy is folic acid. Folic acid is a B vitamin that has been proven to increase energy levels. Even though you can look for vitamins that provide energy, it would be in your best interest to find those that can be effective with fighting fatigue as well. There are vitamins, nutrients, and supplements that are great for fighting fatigue and helping the body stay alert.

The vitamin known as NADH is very powerful for energy, although many people aren’t aware of it. People who use vitamins on a regular basis would find themselves very impressed with the boost NADH provides. It is often used with chronic fatigue, although the way it works can be quite complicated indeed. Other vitamins that are great for providing energy include the msm supplement and gingko biloba.

If you happen to be on a blood thinner, such as aspirin, you should always consult with a doctor or other trained specialist before you take gingko biloba, as it is a blood thinning agent. Even though it is considered to be an energy vitamin, if you use it with aspirin it can thin your blood down a bit too much. If you get your blood too thin, it may lead to medical problems later on in life that can prevent you from doing the things you love.

With any vitamin that you take as a source of energy, you should always consult with your doctor. If you have any type of heart or other serious medical condition, you may not be able to take the vitamin you are interested in. For this reason, you should always consult with your doctor and ask for his advice. After a few tests and exams, your doctor will be able to tell you what type of vitamins you should or shouldn’t take.

In the world of vitamins and supplements, there are many alternative sources that you can take for energy. Whether you are a senior citizen looking to do more activities or an athlete looking to get more energy, there are many different vitamins out there that can give you what you need. Before you rush out and explore your options though, you should always consult with your doctor first and see if there are any vitamins you shouldn’t be taking.

Make it a great day!

Why You Need Vitmain D?

When Johnny objects to a soap-and-water scrubbing, it is usually because he just doesn't like it. He would be on much sounder scientific, though dubious domestic, ground, if he simply told his mother: "Excessive bathing with soap removes from my skin the sterols which, if exposed to the ultra-violet irradiation of sunlight, would be converted into the Vitamin D I need for normal bone growth."

Not that Johnny would get very far, for bathing is a well-established social custom and quite indispensable for getting along with people. It is true, however, that oily substances in the skin are removed by soap scrubbings, and that these are the very materials which are changed into Vitamin D by the action of the sunlight. You can have a coat of tan that speaks of hours lying in the sun, yet the vitamin benefits of the sunshine may have been largely lost if you conscientiously bathed yourself before exposure. Too, the deeper your tan, the less sunshine vitamin you get, for the pigment shuts the vitamin-producing rays out from the skin.

For that matter, the benefit of sunbathing in city regions is probably overrated, from the vitamin point of view. Dust, smoke, and invisible urban effluvia may effectively curtain off the ultra-violet wavelengths of sunlight, which are the only ones that help your skin manufacture Vitamin D.

Practically, therefore, you will do well to get Vitamin D by other sources than suntan, although as an adult your needs for the vitamin are considerably less than the requirements of children. The particular virtue of Vitamin D is its masterly control over the distribution of calcium and phosphorus in the body-minerals which not only are the major building-blocks of bones and teeth, but which also play vital chemical roles in the body's functions.

Strangely enough, a relationship of Vitamin D to myopia (nearsightedness) has recently been demonstrated in animals. Lack of the vitamin and therefore of proper calcium and phosphorus metabolism has, in animals, weakened the outer coats of the eye and changed its refractive properties. The experimental animals were puppies, but a human application is not improbable.

It is babies, however, who are most seriously affected by Vitamin D shortages. They develop rickets, a disease in which deformed bones are exhibited as bowlegs, knock-knees, swollen joints, distorted pelvis, chest and spine. So important is this vitamin to infants that their diets always include cod liver oil or other concentrate, and the doctor's orders should be faithfully followed.

You can get a good deal of Vitamin D from ordinary foods, but the chances are you don't. Peanut butter, milk, graham crackers, cereals, and a vast number of other foods commonly used by children, are now available with Vitamin D artificially added. These are usually good investments. Oily fishes-tuna, salmon, herring, sardines-are the best sources among common unfortified foodstuffs. Eggs and butter also contribute small amounts.

The easiest way of securing Vitamin D is to use fortified milk, many varieties of which contribute a full day's vitamin quota per quart. Concentrates such as viosterol are potent and relatively inexpensive. Any surplus that you build up during exposure to summer sunshine is stored for doling out through the winter.

How The Right Vitamins Keep Your Teeth Healthy!

A sweet tooth is likely to be full of fillings. This is one point in the relationship of diet to oral beauty on which researchers generally agree.

Beyond that, except for admission that minerals and vitamins are essential to sound teeth, there is wide difference of opinion on the proper feeding and care of bicuspids.

A few significant diet factors, however, give promise of persuading your molars to linger longer in their sockets.

As an adult you are probably beyond the stage where vitamins make much difference to your teeth. True, if you develop scurvy from lack of Vitamin C your teeth will drop out, but that is largely because of breakdown of surrounding tissue. Matters arc different with children. Young animals deprived of Vitamin A grow teeth without any covering of enamel. Dental enamel is the hardest substance in your body and when it isn't present in teeth, soon the teeth aren't present either. Shortages of Vitamin A in childhood can cause teeth to develop with thin, broken, or misshapen enamel coats that pave the way for early decay.

Oversize servings of orange juice have helped to prevent tooth cavities in children, since Vitamin C is essential to the formation of dentine, the hard stuff between the enamel and pulp of the tooth. Vitamin D is necessary too to regulate the distribution of calcium and phosphorus out of which teeth are principally made.

Once you've grown up, however, the mechanisms that make for tooth decay are multiple and complex. Meat-eating animals and carnivorous humans, such as Eskimos, are relatively immune to dental decay and it is evident that the oral decomposition of protein is offensive only in the sense that your best friends won't tell you. Carbohydrate appears to be the big tooth enemy.

A widely accepted theory holds that the decomposition of carbohydrate particles (particularly when packed into the fissures of the teeth, where decay most often begins) results in conditions favorable to the growth of lacto-bacillus acidophilus, a sour little bacillus that is charged with gnawing away at enamel and preparing you for the dental bur.

This ties in with the observation that sugar, of all foods, is the most efficient tooth dissolver.

Persons who suck lozenges and cough drops-a favorite habit of some cigarette smokers, to cool off the mouth between fags-or who crunch hard candies frequently have very bad teeth. The old Scandinavian custom of holding a sugar cube between the teeth and sipping coffee through it also is a joy to dentists looking for steady customers. Sugar in solution bathes the teeth with fluids that, for whatever reason, appear notably effective in dissolving the tooth structure. The obvious moral, if you simply can't cut down on sweets, is to choose candies that you can get to the glottis swiftly.

Low sugar and high fat diets-the type customarily prescribed for diabetics-have proved surprisingly effective in holding tooth decay to a minimum. Brushing the teeth is esthetically advisable, but "dirty" teeth often show less decay than "clean" ones. The protective film that covers the teeth (it requires acid to dissolve it, and is not necessarily visible to the eye) appears to prevent withdrawal of calcium from teeth, perhaps by preventing direct contact with bacteria. Even when bacteria are present in the mouth, a well-balanced diet goes far to render them harmless.

One of the new discoveries in nutrition is that some types of pyorrhea can be prevented or benefited by increase of Vitamin C. Bleeding gums-the popularly terrifying cause of "pink toothbrush"-often need Vitamin C more than they do vigorous scrubbing or the gnawing of bones.

Supplements For Building Muscle!

If you were to walk into your local health and nutrition store looking for supplements that build muscle, you’ll probably find yourself confused and amazed at just how many products there are to choose from. With so many supplements available, it can be a little on the tricky side to decide which ones will help you with your goals. There are a lot of supplements out there to help you build muscle, although some may not be ideal for your goals.

The first thing to keep in mind, is the fact that you don’t always need muscle building supplements to build muscle, although will help you speed up the process. These types of supplements can help you increase muscular development, providing you work out. They can aid you in both muscle growth and the recovery of your muscles. Among the many products available, the most popular are protein, creatine, and multi-vitamins.

Protein is a preferred supplement among bodybuilders and those who exercise. It contains many amino acids which help you to build muscle. No matter what type of diet you are or on or supplement you select, you should always pick one that contains a lot of protein. The ideal way to take protein, is 2 grams per pound of body weight. You can get protein in pill form, powder, or even bars. When you select your protein supplement, you should also make sure that the supplement contains whey, soy, and eggs. Whey protein is the ideal supplement, as it contains everything you need to start building muscle.

Creatine is another beneficial supplement, as it will help you increase your muscle mass and improve the recovery time for your muscles. Creatine also helps you to increase your muscle pumps as well, allowing you to do more repetitions with more weight. Normally, you will need to go through a loading period of creatine, which is usually a week. Once you have loaded it, you should use in cycles, a few weeks using it and a few weeks off. To get the most from creatine, you should always follow the instructions the manufacturer has provided on the label.

Micro-vitamins are another great supplement, as they work great for those who aren’t getting enough minerals and vitamins with their normal diet. Although you may have the best of intentions, a busy or hectic schedule can make it very hard to get a healthy meal. If you use vitamin supplements in your diet, you can get the vitamins and minerals your body needs. If you are looking to build muscle, you should always take the proper supplements, and use protein bars and shakes if you aren’t able to eat a healthy meal.

Building muscle is something we would all like to do. Even though it requires a lot of exercise and commitment on your behalf, you should also have the necessary supplements as well. If you use the right supplements, you’ll notice the muscle growth in a matter of weeks. Supplements will help you to build muscle, by speeding up the process.

There are a lot of brands and manufacturers to choose from, including Weider and MuscleTech. You can find these supplements locally or online, giving you plenty of great deals to take advantage of. If you exercise and are looking to add more muscle mass to your body, you should give muscle building supplements a try. They work extremely well, they taste great, and they will greatly assist you in your quest to build muscle and live a healthier life.

Vitamin E And Weight Loss!

We all know that oxygen is a primary component that is needed for life. This very same oxygen, once inside of the body, becomes very reactive through certain molecules and will start to cause damage through the free radicals, which is known as oxidative stress. As an antioxidant, vitamin E will help to prevent this type of stress, which will prevent the cells from aging or sustaining any type of permanent damage as well.

Cholesterol, which is a fatty substance found in many foods, is absorbed by the body then transferred from the liver to be stored by tissue as fat. This is carried through the bloodstream by molecules known as LDL (Low Density Lipoproteins). When the LDL is oxidized, it reacts to the cholesterol and a fat substance known as plaque begins to get deposited on the artery walls, which causes the blood flow to stop.

Vitamin E will stop cholesterol from forming into plaque, which will allow the blood to flow properly. If you don’t use vitamin E, in this situation, the blood will stop flowing and the arteries will begin to get backed up. As most of us know, this is the main cause of heart attacks, high blood pressure, and other serious diseases.

Even though many researchers and doctors have linked vitamin E to preventing cancer, this hasn’t been conclusively proven. There are many doctors that have said in the past that vitamin E can indeed prevent cancer, although no documentation or proof has been given to back up such statements. We all know that it is a very important vitamin, regardless.

There are studies however, that have proven vitamin E to be very effective in protecting the skin against UV rays. Vitamin E has been shown on numerous occasions to shield the skin from the harmful rays of the sun, which as we all know, can lead to skin cancer. If you include sources of vitamin E, or supplements in your diet you can help to prevent the damage of UV rays to your skin.

Along with these types of benefits, vitamin E can also protect against alzheimer’s disease and inflammation of the pancreas. This vitamin can also be very beneficial with reducing scars, and healing many types of burns and wounds. Included in your diet, vitamin E can help your skin to heal from many discrepancies over time.

When included with vitamin C, vitamin E can be one of the most important vitamins for your body. It offers many different benefits, besides the ones listed above. You can find it in many different forms, including fruits and nuts. Fruits are excellent sources of vitamin E, especially oranges. Oranges have always been known to be rich in this vitamin, whether you are consuming whole oranges or just drinking orange juice. If you are drinking orange juice that contains pulp, you’ll be getting plenty of vitamin E in your diet.

All things aside, you should always make sure that you include vitamin E in your diet. Along with fruits and nuts, you can also find this vitamin plentiful in vegetables as well. You can include it into your diet, or take supplements that provide it. You should be getting around 1,000 mg of the vitamin a day, which isn’t hard to do if you eat the right foods. If you consume the right amount of vitamin E in your diet, you’ll notice that your body will perform much better - and you’ll be well protected against numerous diseases as well.

Ode to Fitness!

By David Smyth

I ride my bike from town to town
By hoards of smiling faces
My bpm goes up and down
As my heart’s put through its paces

I pump my legs and feel the burn
I’m living determination
At break neck speed I take the turns
I seek fat extermination

I swallow bugs and spit them out
I swig water from my bottle
A million swears will leave my mouth
As I ramp up on the throttle

My arm gets numb my breath gets thin
My feet slip of the pedal
I slam into an open bin
Just three minutes from the medal

I see the light and wish I’d sought
A life less dull and dry
But as it is, my final thought
Is what’s my bmi?

I never had a cushy job
Desks won’t make you feel alive
But I wish I’d been that brain dead slob
They live ‘till sixty five

Fiber, Essential Fatty Acids, and Water for Flat Abs!

Improving your digestion consists of following a healthy diet. It is a must to consume enough fiber to get your digestion moving. You can get fiber by eating your favorite fruits, vegetables, or grains. It is better that you eat the fruits, vegetables, and grains you know you love instead of being told exactly what you must eat. The goal is to improve your digestion by consuming more fiber. Just start adding fiber-rich foods with each meal. Consuming 25-30 grams daily is ideal. If you don’t consume the ideal amount, then start slowly to avoid bloating. For example, have oatmeal and strawberries for breakfast, add some broccoli or a leafy green salad to lunch, and a slice of whole grain bread to your dinner.

Fiber improves blood-sugar regulation, binds and eliminates toxins, and decreases appetite because it makes you feel full without increasing body fat or weight. This leads to flatter abs.

The role of Vitamin C!

Vitamin C is one of the most important vitamins for your body. It prevents a lot of diseases, and increases your body’s immune system. You can take this vitamin with or without any food, as it can be found in supplement form or in many different juices. Along with being found in supplement and vitamin form, you can find vitamin C in broccoli, peppers, oranges, lemon juice, mustard greens, cauliflower, papaya, and parsley.

Research in the past has shown that there really aren’t any advantages to taking excessive amounts of this vitamin. Even though you shouldn’t take excessive amounts of vitamin C, you shouldn’t have a deficiency in the vitamin either. The most common signs of a deficiency in vitamin C include swollen gums, an unexplained weakness, and nosebleeds. Deficiency is common these days, with the most common reasons being alcoholism and a poor diet.

Tendons and ligaments throughout your body need vitamin C in order to remain healthy and strong. Depending on your current health situation, it may be in your best interest to take vitamin C supplements along with vitamin E. Together, the combination of the two will work side by side, and enhance their overall impact on your body and your health.

Vitamin C is well known as an antioxidant, protecting your skin from the harmful damage of UV rays. If you skin suffers from radiation damage, vitamin C can actually help your skin to recover and reverse some of the harmful effects. If you include vitamin C in your diet and take it every day, you’ll notice that your skin will benefit. If you use vitamin E and C together, you’ll notice that scars and other harmful defects on your skin will start to heal as well.

You can find vitamin C in many fruits and vegetables, although oranges will give you the most amounts. Orange juice is a great way to get your daily dose of vitamin C, as all you need to do is drink a few glasses of it a day. Even if you drink a glass of orange juice in the morning with your breakfast then eat a few oranges during the day, you’ll get more than enough vitamin C.

If you want to get more vitamin C in your diet, you can use vitamin supplements. When you look for supplements at the store, you should read the labels and see how much vitamin C is in the supplement, and how it works. You should avoid time released supplements of vitamin C, as they haven’t been proven to work as well yet. As long as you monitor your intake of vitamin C and use it on a daily basis, you’ll find that your health and immune system will be better than ever.

Make it a great day!

I want to go Vegan 101!

You may be considering switching to a vegan or vegetarian diet, but are concerned about getting everything you need to stay healthy. While there are a lot of essential vitamins and minerals in animal products, these vital nutrients are available in vegan diets as well. There’s no need to take extra supplements everyday; simply eat the right foods to provide you will a healthy, well rounded diet. Here are some of the major nutrients a vegan diet might be missing and non-animal sources for them.

* Iron. It is especially important to get iron in your diet if you are a menstruating woman, because it is often lost during your period. There are many options for getting iron including sea vegetables, legumes, soy, raisins, figs, and broccoli. You may also consider eating a fortified breakfast cereal; these have extra iron added. You should also be sure to get adequate vitamin C so the iron is absorbed.

* Calcium. Contrary to what the dairy industry wants you to believe, you do not have to drink milk to get enough calcium in your diet. Many green leafy vegetables are great sources of calcium. Soy products, such as fortified soy milk and tofu, are good calcium sources as well. You can also find orange juice on the market that has added calcium.

* Protein. While meat and eggs are the best way to get protein, you can still build strong muscles by finding protein in other foods. Soy products, nuts and nut butter, seeds, beans, grains, and vegetables all contain protein. You should eat a variety of these foods for optimum health.

* Vitamin D. This nutrient is essential for proper absorption of calcium. The best way to get it without drinking milk is from good old sunshine. You don’t need to go tanning, just take a daily walk or do some reading outdoors. If you don’t want to go to a tanning salon during the winter, you can try some fortified soy milk or breakfast cereals.

* Vitamin B12. This is one of the harder nutrients to get in a vegan diet because there are no non-animal natural sources. Fortified soy milk and cereals have added B12, but you may still need a daily supplement.

* Zinc. This nutrient is usually found in milk products, but is also available from soy products, dried beans, and nuts. You can also find zinc in fortified breakfast cereals.

Remember, while you can get nutrients from supplements, fortified cereals, and other unnatural sources; the best way to get nutrients is naturally. Try to incorporate as many natural nutrient sources as you can into your diet for a healthy animal product free life.

Does Conjugated Linoleic Acid Work?

Conjugated linoleic acid is a natural substance found in many of our foods that according to many studies can reduce fat and improve muscle mass in the body. Taken as a supplement with no change in eating or exercise habits, it would not make you lose weight but it could help you lose fat. It is often taken by men looking to lose weight and bodybuild at the same time, but it can also be useful for anyone who is overweight and under-exercising, as any increase in muscle will increase the metabolism, burning more calories.

Like many natural weight loss products, conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) combined with a flexible healthy eating plan can lead to gradual long term weight loss and help you get out of the yoyo dieting cycle where you are constantly losing and gaining the same 10, 20 or 50 pounds. Yoyo dieting is very bad for the health. It is better to remain overweight than to keep on losing and gaining, losing and gaining.

Most experts (unless they are trying to sell you something) agree that the diet that works best in the long term is the non-diet, where instead of eating special foods and banning others, you eat slightly smaller quantities of a normal healthy diet. If you are currently living entirely on pizza, fries and chocolate, then okay, some changes may be overdue. But you can still have small portions of all of those foods from time to time. If this is the kind of diet that you want, then CLA can help reinforce your plan by boosting your fat loss. Dr Michael Pariza of University of Wisconsin-Madison, reported to the American Chemical Society that CLA "doesn't make a big fat cell get little. What it rather does is keep a little fat cell from getting big."

Many studies have been done on CLA. One study published in the Journal of Nutrition found that people taking CLA lost on average six pounds of body fat more than a group that took a placebo. The researchers discovered that you need around 3.4 grams of CLA per day for it to be effective. CLA is found in food, especially meat and dairy products, but supplementation is necessary for most people to reach that level.

Another study at Purdue University, Indiana, found that CLA improved insulin levels in about two-thirds of diabetics, and slightly decreased their blood glucose level and triglyceride levels, suggesting that it may help to maintain normal insulin levels. But see your doctor before taking any supplements if you have diabetes.

There are no magic pills for weight loss but if you are willing to commit to reducing your body fat permanently, CLA may help you. Keep in mind that its main effect is to convert fat to muscle, which by itself will not weigh any less. But your body will look slimmer and feel healthier if you do this, and combined with a good weight control eating plan conjugated linoleic acid can help you move toward your ideal weight too.

Make it a great day!

Green Tea and Weight Loss!

The tea extract – weight loss connection has been scientifically proven. There are two ways to lose weight. One is to reduce energy intake (calories) and the other is to increase energy expenditure. A recent study in the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition reported that green tea extract increased energy expenditure through higher metabolism and also had an effect on fat oxidation. In summary, the tea extract worked on both sides of the weight loss coin.

Originally, the tea extract weight loss connection was thought to be the result of the caffeine in the tea. But, the researchers discovered that the tea’s properties go beyond what could be naturally expected from the caffeine content. When they administered the same amount of caffeine alone, they foud that there was no change in energy expenditure. This leads us to believe that there is an interaction between the active ingredients of green tea that leads to weight loss.

One way to get the benefits of green tea is to select an organic brand of loose leaf tea from the supermarket and drink it each morning. But, if this isn’t your “cup of tea,” the answer may lie in green tea extract. Weight loss is the same whether you drink the tea or take it in capsule form. In fact, some studies have found that when subjects were injected with green tea extract, weight loss happened more quickly.

None of the subjects in any of the green tea research studies reported any side effects. There were also no significant differences in heart rates. This makes green tea extract different from some of the prescription drugs for obesity as well as herbal products like ephedra which raise heart rates and blood pressure.

The best way to use green tea extract for weight loss is to take it with meals because this reproduces the various study’s conditions to the extent possible.

Because green tea does not have any caffeine in it, it has the potential to accelerate your metabolism without the jittery side effects or over stimulating your adrenal glands. Green tea weight loss works because it does not require you to eat a very low calorie diet.

Green tea can also increase your endurance by up to 24 percent allowing you to burn more calories in your exercise routine and build lean muscle mass which helps you to burn calories even when you are not exercising.

There is a connection between green tea extract & weight loss. Adding a cup of tea to your day is an easy way to stimulate weight loss.

Even after you have lost all of the weight you want, you can still continue to drink green tea. Unlike other herbs and supplements, you can drink 3 to 6 cups daily for the rest of your life without having any side effects. Along with its other powerful health benefits, this means green tea is an ideal weight maintenance beverage.

There is a tea extract – weight loss connection. That’s been proven. Add tea or tea extract to your diet and watch the pounds come off.

Visualize and make it so!

Each and every one of us has a goal, whether we are looking for a salary increase or want to retire at fifty. To have a goal is not enough, the goal is simply the end result. To truly succeed we must establish a deep desire to achieve our goal, this will keep us motivated. The easiest way to stay motivated is to visualise.

There is a huge difference between "I wish" and "I will." Daydreaming about success is likely to be counterproductive. To ensure success, even when faced with a difficult task we need to remain focused and motivated.

Consider the following statements:

"It would be nice to retire at 50"
"I am going to retire at 50"

Of course it would be nice to retire at 50, even better to retire younger. A casual comment like the first example is hardly going to keep anybody motivated. The first comment is likely to be uttered by a daydreamer, somebody who has already admitted defeat and assumes they would not be able to retire at 50. Those who would use the second phrase are also more likely to succeed.

When we talk about visualising our goals we are not referring to daydreaming. Those who visualise actually SEE, HEAR, SMELL, TASTE and FEEL the benefits of their achievements before they happen. When you visualise the benefits of achieving your goal, you will increase your chances of success. After all, you do want to achieve your goal don't you?

Many of us feel that we are far too busy to take any time out of our schedule to invest in ourselves.

Here is a simple daily task which will help you stay motivated:

You will only need a pen and a piece of paper for this exercise. Find a quiet, comfortable place where you will not be disturbed and relax. Allow yourself to enjoy the moment. Once you feel relaxed, allow your mind to drift, think about a specific goal, something you have always longed for. Imagine now that you achieved your goal TODAY, visualise the benefits which your achievement now brings you and how you feel for achieving it. If you totally immerse yourself in your achievement you will probably feel a surge of energy, think of this as motivation.

With these thoughts fresh in your mind, write down everything you felt. The feelings and emotions which achieving your goal brought you, the sights, sounds, smells and tastes.

DO NOT THINK, ACT... write EVERYTHING you feel, visualise your feelings flowing out of your pen onto the paper.

For example:

"I feel amazing, so full of energy and life. I have so much time to spend with my family now I have retired. I no longer feel trapped in my job. I can go where I want, when I want and answer to nobody but myself. Today is a great day and tomorrow will be even better. Family life is so much better now that I have more time, I love spending time with my children and they love spending time with me."

The results will surprise you, this simple task works.

The key to success with this task is practice, you can use it to motivate yourself even when performing the most mundane duties.

Let's say you have been putting off the cleaning. By visualising the benefits of a cleaner house, you are more likely to be motivated to do it rather than focusing on the task at hand.

When you approach all your goals this way, you answer the most motivating question in the world...

"What's in it for me?"

Make it a great day!

Understanding Yourself and Why You Believe What You Do.

Understanding Yourself and Why You Believe What You Do.

Fear and not having a clear idea of what we want are two of the main reasons we fail in life. Our relationships are mainly affected by our fears and insecurities, along with the lack of respect, honesty, responsibility and appreciation.

Experiences are acquired through our journey in life; we choose and create our beliefs, fears and opinions based on all our experiences in life. Even though things and life are the way they are, mainly, we all have different opinions and beliefs about everything and everybody. Other people have opinions about us too. They may demean or limit our capacity and intelligence but what really matters is the opinion we have about ourselves. You either choose to accept and follow what other people believe or you decide to be yourself and live according to the reality of life.

By living life as it is and being yourself, you create an image about you. It is extremely important to understand how this image, created by your beliefs and imagination, direct and influence your growth. This image that you create about you determines who you are and how you feel; it determines how successful you become and how far you can get in life. In short, you are as happy or sad as you see yourself.

Even though beliefs create the mental images that influence our behavior, actions and results, in the end, beliefs are mental states that have nothing to do with reality. People can think whatever they want about you, but it is entirely up to you either to believe those images and act accordingly, or to picture yourself reaching the stars.

We have to be clear… what really matters and what will shape your destiny is what you think about yourself, nothing else but the image you create about you. Believe blindly in yourself! Everything starts in the mind. If you really want to accomplish your dreams, picture yourself having and living the life you want. Believe in you and be confident! It doesn’t matter how bad or difficult the circumstances may look like.

If you believe and conceive that you can break through all odds and get to the top, you will. That is life; it will give you only what you ask, nothing else! The problem is that most of the people focus mainly in what they don’t want and then they ask themselves why they get the results they obtain.

The future may look uncertain or impossible for others, but it doesn’t necessarily have to be that way for you. You, and everybody else, have been granted with so many blessings and two of them are the capacity to choose and to make decisions. You can decide and make the choice of choosing your attitude. You have the power, talents, capacity and intelligence to brighten your world as much as you want, but this will only happen once you change your attitude and believe in yourself.

There is no excuse; you need to understand that regardless of what you have in front of you, or how “low you may be”, you must believe in you. This and only this is what will make you break through. Believing in you, having a blind faith and being clear in what you want, having a burning desire to get what you want, a never-ending determination and an unstoppable persistence to move forward will definitely allow you to reach the unreachable.

Without exception, all of us have fears. But the difference between success and failure is how we deal with our fears. Not only are fears mental but they also are part of our beliefs. There is no excuse to be a failure, poor, ignorant or to belong to the great majority of people who choose to live in a destructive environment; it is nothing but your choice. If you don’t do anything for yourself, nobody else will. If you don’t change your beliefs about you, who will?

So smile and create positive mental pictures of your life in your world, all the time, every second of your life. Be clear; focus only on the things you want and eventually they will be yours.

Make it a great day!

Getting Motivated With A Weight Loss Calculator!

A weight loss calculator can be a great motivational tool if you look at it with the right attitude. Whether you’ve got 10 pounds to lose or 200, punching in the numbers and coming up with goals and time lines can help focus you to the task ahead. In fact, a calculator is just one of the tools you can use to help keep you losing weight and getting healthier without getting burned out or quitting because you don’t know what to do next.

The Internet contains every kind of weight loss calculator you can think of. You can calculate your BMI, or body mass index. By entering your height, weight and approximate level of activity, you’ll get a BMI number. This number determines whether you’re about normal, overweight or obese. The lower the number, the better, though it does point out the numbers than mean a person is underweight, too.

The BMI calculator is one of the most common you’ll find, and one of the easiest to use. While you’re losing weight, it can also be fun to punch new numbers into the weight loss calculator from time to time to watch the BMI number go down. Especially satisfying is the day when your number moves from the obese range to the overweight range, or from overweight to normal!

Other types of planning and motivational tools you’ll find on line are calculators for things like figuring your daily caloric needs. These can be used in a variety of great ways to help you lose weight. First, figuring out how many calories you need a day just to maintain your weight is one of the best things you can do when you plan to drop some pounds. Everyone, whether they want to lose weigh or not, should know about how many calories they should eat in a day, just for general health.

One you’ve used the weight loss calculator figure your daily calorie needs, if you’ll subtract 500 from that number and stick to the plan, you’ll lose on average 1 pound a week. Subtract more calories to lose more, without going below 1500 or 1600 calories. Most people need at least that much for proper nutrition and health. If you’re extremely short and small boned you could probably go lower; but not by much. Remember, under eating to lose weight pretty much guarantees you’ll gain it back as soon as you eat normally again.

Another type of weight loss calculator that can be incredibly motivating can be found online, too. You enter your weight, and your goal weight, and it calculates about how many calories you should eat per day to reach that weight by your specified date. Most will even warn you if your date is too ambitious, and that it would be hard if not impossible to achieve the goal by that date. Some let you enter your goal, and they give you a date. This lets you use a weight loss calculator to plan and monitor your success.

Ten Ways To Be Tough With Your Appetite!

Are you hungry because you're fat, or are you fat because you're hungry?
This is no chicken-or-the-egg question. To some degree, at least, you are hungry because you're fat. You have more body area and that means greater surface to radiate heat and call for calories.

That being the case, foods which satisfy your hunger fastest will help you to cut down comfortably on your calories. Nutritionists call the hunger-satisfying properties of foods "satiety value." Satisfying foods are those that remain longest in the stomach and small intestine, demanding the most vigorous attention from the digestive machinery.

Meat is the most satisfying of all foods, containing extractives that stimulate the stomach to highest activity.
Milk ranks next to meat in satiety value; whole milk is more satisfying than skim milk.
Fish is slightly less satisfying than meat because usually it contains less fat.
Eggs vary according to preparation. Raw eggs pass quickly from the stomach; hard-boiled eggs have greater satiety value than soft-boiled, and about the same as fried.
Green vegetables and bread are low in satiety value. Oddly, bread becomes even less satisfying when toasted.

Fats are high in satiety value; hence moderate reducing diets often allow more fats than carbohydrates as a kindness to the appetite.
Aside from the satisfying effects of food, there are other ways of putting a check rein on your appetite. Here are ten ways of cracking down and letting your appetite know who's boss:

1. Stop eating while you're still a little hungry. For reasons that are not fully understood, persons who tend to put on weight do not receive the "full up" signal
from their meals as promptly as they should. Consequently they go on eating after hunger is satisfied. Stop eating just a little earlier than you usually do and you
will be surprised, within a few minutes, to discover that appetite has really been appeased.

2. Revise your mental habits. A lot of people put on weight because, having few things that interest them, they turn to nibbling as a socially entertaining way of
killing time. Keep busy at something else and watch your yen for eating fall within normal limits.

3. Use foods that demand vigorous chewing. The first organs of digestion are the teeth. Food that is bolted (except by carnivores) makes things tougher for your
stomach and deprives you of the full savor of the things you eat-consequently you want more to satisfy your taste. Meat, crisp celery, raw carrots-all of these call for vigorous maxillary action that helps satisfy your appetite.

4. Don't wash food down with water. The only valid objection to drinking water with meals is that you may wash down lumpy masses of half-chewed food and thus unconsciously step up your intake.

5. Don't be tricked by fancy foods. An ice cream sundae topped off by nuts and whipped cream can tempt anybody's appetite. If you keep out of the way of such temptations, however, you will find that your appetite is just as happy as a baby who has never heard about lollipops.

6. Keep count on calories. A rough idea of calorie values is all you need to tone down a rambunctious appetite considerably. It's a lot easier to say "I'll take an orange" when you know there are 450 calories in a husky slab of mince pie.

7. Scuttle your alibis. If you blame your overweight on heredity or glands, have your doctor check you up-I dare you! If you feel that you can't say "no" to the
hostess who urges a second helping on you, for risk of hurting her feelings, remember that she probably is insistent because of a high sense of hospitality, and secretly
may be thinking how nice it would be to have some leftover comestibles for tomorrow's pick-up dinner.

8. Put a fruit bowl on the coffee table instead of a box of chocolates. Eating between meals isn't bad; it's good -provided you choose a piece of fruit or a glass of milk instead of concentrated candies and pastries, and don't exceed your calorie limits.

9. Don't did your appetite with alcohol. We aren't saying you shouldn't drink. But if you drink, remember that the appetite stirred up by alcohol is spurious. It isn't the real McCoy. It's another trick to make you hungry when you aren't.

10. Don't go without breakfast. Lots of us kid ourselves that we're reducing because we're rushed or sleepy in the morning and coast along on a cup of coffee. This is necessary in short-term reducing diets, but appetite is controlled better through the day when we give it a respectful breakfast nod.

Make it a great day!
