Nutrition? Is that a country in Europe?
I once took a trip to Nutrition. It's a wonderful place with flowing
streams, dancing lilies and roses, and the night sky was filled with
fire flies. We traveled the winding roads seeing ancient castles and
ruins of old world civilizations.
The local peasants greeted us with favor and offered us various
trinkets for sale. The excursions to golf courses and boat rides
were especially fun, offering discounted rounds of golf, and all day
fishing and snorkeling.
Is this really Nutrition?
Lol, no it isn't. Nutrients are proteins, carbohydrates, fats,
vitamins, minerals, and water. Nutrition is the balance of these
nutrients. Pretty confusing huh? Naw, its not confusing once you
get the hang of it. You balance your diet by keeping the amount
of nutrients you take in balanced.
But how do you balance your diet?
Learning to eat nutritiously is not hard. The key is to:
1. Eat a variety of foods, including vegetables, fruits and
whole-grain products
2. Eat lean meats, poultry, fish, beans and low-fat dairy
products
3. Drink lots of water
4. Go easy on the salt, sugar, alcohol, saturated fat and
trans fat
Make it a great day!
